Stay at home mothers can earn a little extra money to spend on their children if they get paid to take surveys. There are two types of survey web sites: free and those that charge a fee.
Free paid survey websites earn their money from the companies that are conducting the surveys. They get a small commission for providing qualified people to take their surveys. Qualified people are the target audience they want to sell something to and are trying to find out what that group wants to buy.
Many of the sites that charge fees are legitimate businesses that do a lot of research to find surveys for their clients to take. You could do this research on your own, but it would take a lot of time.
Getting paid to take surveys is an excellent choice for young mothers because you can work whenever you have some free time, like when the children are napping. A lot of paid surveys are asking questions about consumer products, shopping habits, brand names, television commercials, etc. The companies want to know your opinions and preferences and are willing to pay you for your time.
Payment can be made in one of two ways: as points, sweepstakes, gift certificates or in cash. If points cannot be traded in for cash, don't bother with a points website. Many sites offer sweepstakes entries for completing screening surveys which only take a few minutes and are designed to see if your are in the group that the company running the survey is looking for.
Cash websites will either send you a check each month or after your earnings reach a specified amount or send the money directly to your PayPal account. Gift certificate websites pay you with gift certificates that let you shop online.
