Emo Walleye Classic hits the water
The 11th-annual Emo Walleye Classic got underway this morning as 42 teams hit the waters of the Rainy River, with most racing towards the dam in Fort Frances after departing from the Front Street boat launch.

The 11th-annual Emo Walleye Classic runs today and tomorrow (May 25-26). Magician James Grant will perform tonight at 7 p.m. at the Emo Arena, with advance tickets costing $5 or $15 for a family pack of four, followed by a free casino night at 9 p.m. (age of majority).

Spray park hit with hefty bill
The Township of Emo recently agreed to purchased a $36,000 ultraviolet light (UV) for the Emo Spray Park so it would be able to open this summer. “Apparently it’s mandatory to have it,” noted Mayor Vince Sheppard. “Without it, you can’t guarantee safety of the people using it,” he explained. “So really it’s a safety issue.” read more
