What do I need to do to start a photography business in San Diego?
I have recently started doing photography for friends and family and have decided to turn it into a part time business. I am planning on doing " on location" sittings so I will be working out of my home for a while instead of a studio. I don't have much business knowledge so I need to know what to do to get everything started legally. Licenses? Insurance? What else? Thanks

How do I get people to take my photography business seriously?
For a year now, I have been professionally shooting portrait sessions, I have had a good build up of clientele. It was really starting to be what I wanted. The problem now, lies in a woman who lives in our small town community. After talking to me one day, she went out and bought a $1,000 camera. She took one " how to use" class, has owned her camera for a month and is now doing portraits ALL over town for people for free, just for fun... it's slowly taking my business away. Why would people want to pay me for quality photos when they can just have her snap what she can for free? Around here, people will do anything if it's free.How do I make people see, I'm not just an amateur and I do have studio equipment, I do have background in photography? How do I " outshine" her with her 750 people on facebook and her offers for free pictures?She is NOT a photographer, her " portraits" are really lacking appeal. They're over saturated, the lighting is bad, her poses are very bland. I do not want her as a partner..... and my prices are already AS LOW as they can possibly go.
