I applied for a secret shopper job and they sent em a check to deposit in my account that was a bad check, why?
I applied for jobs on Craig's list and was offered a secret shopper job. I received an email asking for my resume like a normal job and spoke numerous times back and forth. My final email told me I would receive my instructions in the mail. I received instructions and a check which I deposited into my bank account and waited for it to clear, but then my account was closed because the check was bad. I went into my bank and spoke with a manager and they are blaming me that I deposited it. I never used the money and they closed my account and stated they would put me into chex system. why am I blamed for something that I was a victim for.

A question about Secret shopper jobs?
I found an ad in my local newspaper about secret shopping opportunites. I called the phone and the woman told me that I would be sent money to buy stuff from places like Wal Mart, Target, and K Mart and the amount I would make for doing the assignment. It was to rate the customer service I recieved. I finally got the information in the mail. There was no return address only an address on the letter, the phone and fax . It also had a check for 2,520.00 and said to go to Wal Mart and send a Money Gram for 2,125.00 to a person they indicated with a charge for the money gram of 95.00 then to keep 300.00 for myself for doing the assignment. The name printed on the letter was Master Research INC. and there was a sheet that said to fax back for the hours I wanted for the following week and another sheet to fax back for my observations of the customer service experience. Anyone know if this might be a scam?
