I've been trying to sell a Toshiba laptop for a while now on ebay, but all the bids have been really low. I was expecting the bids to go much higher more quickly, but now there's only a day left in the auction. Ebay laptop Scam?
After typing my headline, I noticed there are other people with this same problem, but I still didnt find my answer..we are selling our laptop online and I got a message from a buyer asking me to end the auction so that they can pay almost triple what we are asking for it....I was really excited until I saw 3 more messages asking the same thing, but for different amounts one was over 4 times the amount we are asking ...obviously this is a scam, but I am curious to know what would happen if we weren't smart and DID go through with the transaction? If we waited until we had the money and then sent the computer? Is there a way to protect yourself from these things? How can we make sure that we don't sell it to a more ligit soundign person and have it be the same sort of thing??? I thought Ebay PayPal were a little more secure than this....also, i checked the names and profiles on ebay and out of the 3 people, only one guy sounds ligit with 100 % positive and 402 feedback
