Question: Are drop shipping websites legit?

Can you actually make some serious profit from this or is it just a waste of time and money? Also any recommendations on websites to use (I'm based in the UK if that makes any difference) or any tips regarding drop shipping would be much appreciated.

Drop shipping simply means that the web site takes the order and passes it on to a wholesaler (or the manufacturer) who ship directly to the customer. You can make money on drop shipping, but that depends upon 1) Being better at selling the product than other people selling the same product 2) getting the best possible deal from the supplier. If (for example) you are competing with Scotts of Stowe, or Coopers of Stortford (both of which are drop-ship agencies) then you need to be able to offer a better price than they do. I assure you that because of their size, they have some very keen prices from their "suppliers ". However, they also have a very high mark-up so if you can offer the product for less (with a lower mark-up) then it can be done. The other thing of course is how do you get anyone to look at your site?

I'd find out their location and call the BBB and see if they have a good record.
