How much taxes are taken from daycare providers?
I am looking into watching a toddler as I am a SAHM and want to watch just one child so they can all get attention they deserve. They are asking me if I am willing to fill out a w 9 form. I normally would charge 100 125 a week, but I have no idea what to charge if taxes are going to be taken out. Anyone have any idea in general how much is taken out for taxes? I don't want to be doing this for free.

Tax question...regarding daycare providers?
My old daycare provider finally gave me her SS EIN number and with that the amount she received from me since I placed my child in her care. It is incorrect by about $750.00. I have went through all of my cancelled checks my receipts to verify twice. I have filed using my information. Could I be audited because of this? I am keeping the reciepts with my 2008 tax information just in case.

How hard is it to start your own business as an at home daycare provider?
I'm have been thinking it over and have decided that I would like to start a Children's daycare in my home. So as to set my own hours and stay at home with my own children. But other than having to get my license I don't know where else to start from there. How much should I charge? How can I provide the necessary education children need to get them started in school? How old should I take children in at? I have had my son at a day care where he was looked over poorly hardly looked after, I would pick him up only to find his shirt full of mucus. His labeled dippers never on him he would be wearing some other kids dippers. He constantly would get ear infections. He was not eating enough and always either constipated or had diarrhea. Finally after some months I found this wonderful lady who has children of her own and has her own day care at home takes children 2 5 only she is affordable for me $120 a week. She dose a lot like teach them ABC's and numbers and takes them out to field trips. She is really good about telling me where she will be going and how to reach her at all times.I want to stop working an stay home with my soon new born to be as well as maybe make up for some lost time with my first born as I feel I have already missed out a lot an feel responsible for what he has had to go trough god forbid they ever mistreated or hurt him and I not knowing. I need to make money to support us and even do my husband works if I too brought home some cash it would help out a lot. Please help any one out there?
Are there withholding taxes deducted to a daycare provider's pay using a Flexible Savings Account?
This is a question for a CPA or professional tax advisor. My employer has a Flexible Spending Account for Dependent daycare providers. If I use the pretax dollars and pay the independent private daycare provider either by check or cash lets say $200 per week , I can submit a claim to United Healthcare to get reimbursed for this same amount. Basically the expense is a wash or nets to zero each week. Some private daycare providers prefer cash and may not report this income on their tax returns as it is so little. The question are 1. would I then need to indicate any of these payments on my own income tax returns and 2. are the weekly payments to the daycare provider subject to any type of income withholding taxes? If so, who is responsible to report her taxes? Me or her?
