Starting a cleaning service business how much to charge?
We are starting a cleaning service and unsure on how to charge. I figured if charging by the hour is not such a good idea because they may push you to do it faster or they may think you are dragging it out longer than needed.So a sort of expensive area. People make very good money around us. One inquire was about 2800 square foot 2 times a month.Another one was 4 bedroom 3 bathWe are unsure on how much to charge. We are going to look at their homes today but I would like an idea of a fixed rate. Thank you Right now we are cleaning one house and then are paying us 125 a week. We go every week. I dont know if they are underpaying or over paying. We spend about 6 hours there.

Hello we are starting slowly on a cleaning service business. People are quickly inquiring about prices etc...We are thinking of charging 11 dollars an hour or maybe up to 12. We do live in a sort of a " rich area" so I don't know if we are charging under normal wage.One of the interested customers says her house is about 2800 sq ft and wants her house cleaned bi weekly. Right now we go clean a house once a week. The homeowner has been paying us 125 a week. I think she may be over paying but we are so unsure on how to charge please help

Looking to start a cleaning service business with just my wife. We will focus on both commercial and residential contracts with a 60 40 percent ratio. We have the name picked out. Business plan is in progress. Setting up an appointment with an accountant to go over numbers with us. Pricing out insurance for bonding insurance. Will set up a meeting with someone from SCORE to go over our business plan and ideas. Our marketing will be minimal using our own printed business cards and fliers. Word of mouth will hopefully be on our side and possible use our local newspaper and yellow pages to get our name out in public. We also will have our website set up in a way for customers to easily set up apts, focus on our customer service etc. As for products we have chosen eco friendly products that are not only safe for our clients, but also their clients, family members and pets. Are we heading in the right direction to continue and any suggestions?? Thank you
