Whats the key to a successful catering business?
Hi So. I just discovered I'm a great cook. I know that that's probably not the only quality I need to become a successful caterer, and that's exactly why I'm asking. I've always considered myself a decent cook. If someone comes up to me and asks me to try a new recipe, I will... and it usually comes out pretty well. People keep telling me I should start a catering business, and since I'm not very fond of my job, I think I just might. My mother wants to partner with me and I think that's a great idea because I couldn't possibly afford most of the basic stuff I need to start. I've made a menu, but I'm not 100 % sure of it. So... basically, my questions is Besides being a good cook, what are the basic skills I need to make this business work? What are the basic materials I will need? to start, we don't want to invest big until something we're not sure is going to work yet Is 2 people enough to run a catering business? Any good recipes or menus you guys know of? just to compare and get an idea Thanks in advance
