Well, I am planning on starting a house cleaning business soon, and have just about everything down except for my outfit. What should I wear when I go to a clients home to clean? I don't want to show up in something too casual sweat pants , but I also do no won't to show up, dressed too formally. I was thinking of wearing black dress shoes, black socks, black dress pants, a while dress shirt tucked in and maybe a tie. What do you think? If a young man, you hired to clean your house showed up in that what would you think?I don t have much of a fashion sense, so any help and advice would be VERY appreciated. THANKS

So I've decide to start my own cleaning service. So i need to know how much to charge. I was thinking of this.$40.02 hourly flat rate .667 cents per minute 6.8 % mass tax25 % materials surcharge 25 % of the hourly rate 12 % fuel surcharge 12 % of the hourly rate Plus the cost of any rented equipment will be passed on to the client. The cost of one hour of work will about 58 dollars.Does this sound about right? From my calculations it should cover all expenses, taxes, wages, and still profit. But dose this sound about right? So Ive been playing over ideas in my head and Im looking for some feedback and info. I've been researching starting a cleaning business and I have a few questions if anyone has any info they could give me.1. How much in supplies do you spend?2. How much do you charge? Also how do you charge by room? ect.. 3. Did you do you have to turn it into an actual incorporated business with insurance and all that.4. How much does the insurance cost you personally?5. I will be starting a cleaning business and wondering what the best way to advertize? I already have website, and will be putting a ad in the paper this week. I also put up flyers in stores. I need to spread the word more and was thinking door to door flyers? I do not want to be cheap, I want customers to know that I am a professional and very dependiable trustworthy business, so I was thinking door hangers with a brochure becuase people would more likley look at it rather than just a rolled up paper in the door that will go straight in the trash But what else would I put in the door hanger bag besides the flyer? I want to start my own cleaning business where i go into other people's homes and clean. I used to work for one of these companies and thought it would be a good idea to start my own. I deal with elderly people where i work now and it got me to thinking. What if someone misplaces their jewelry or something and accuses me of stealing it since I am in their home. Even if i get insurance to cover potential damages like furniture or carpet, what can i do in this instance?
