Okay, I have supplies, and so far it's more of a hobby that I'll get money from.I know the first few years are going to be hard, especially in this economy. But I think I do this.Right now I'm 16 and have some supplies already. I am trying to get a record book started ezrecords.com and begin my journey. Since I'm young, I'm asking my mom for help. So basically, I'm already in debt with her....My business is a flower arrangement place, where you get arrangements of flowers, like a florist, but these are mostly everlasting flowers since real flowers cost more and die sooner. In a few months, at a local fair, i'll try to get a small tent to sell my wares.I'm getting a summer job that if I do really well at I can get up to 1000$ in a short of 5 weeks.Which i'll use to get more supplies and pay back my mom. Yet, I still have NO idea what I want to call my business.I'm passionate about flowers, plants, and horticulture. I can make corsages, centerpieces, etc. Not too hard getting wires for real flowers is quite harder, and then you have to choose which method is the best method for wiring the real flower and how the arrangement looks, etc. I want the name to have " Kitty" in it. Artist starting a small business online, where to start?
I'm an artist and I plan on opening an online shop for small paintings and jewelry this summer . I just graduated college and have always sold art in shows and a few things online, but it's getting to the point where I would like to officially and legally have a shop and sell things professionally and full time. I'll be working from my home studio and I don't need any loans I already have most of the supplies and money is not really an issue . I've looked into sba.gov but I find it difficult to find exact information that applies to me. I've read this...sba.gov content templates writing business plan and although I do have a business plan, I still feel like I can't provide a lot of the information never had to fill out a tax return, don't need loan application, not renting a commercial building, etc . The thing is, I don't know how much money I'm going to make... the reason I want to start this business is because I enjoy making things, I'm not doing this solely based on money. I spent hours looking up info but I'm finding it difficult to find a starting point, since as an artist this will be like the smallest of small businesses. It feels overwhelming.
