How to start a small catering business from home?
I am thinking about starting my own catering business from home. It would be for smaller gatherings to start with. Some friends have told me that they love my food, and they suggested I look into it. Perhaps for more elaborate finger food, like canapes, etc... just to see how it does at first. Do I need a cooking license? I live in FL If so, how do I get one? How to give free samples for people to try out? I would like to have some ideas to get it going. Or if you have experience in the catering business, would you like to suggest me other ideas? Thanks so much. Katie I am just concerned that someone will catch me doing it without a license. My kitchen is all sanitized, and I use best quality ingredients. I am sure nobody would get sick of my food. And I am also aware of temperature, how to handle materials, etc. But yes, I would definitely go after the license permit. I want to have everything legalized.
