UK question - If I rented a double sized room but with a single bed in, would it still be classed as a double?

Can I sue my landlord for bed bugs?
So, almost 5 months ago I started getting bit by something. Id wake up with huge welts on my body and couldnt figure out what it was, until we found the first bug. Then more. And then it finally got to the point where my body was almost completely covered. I told my landlord about it, and it took him almost 2 weeks to get the exterminator in to spray the apartment. After moving everything out of the room, the man came in and sprayed. Hoping that everything was ok, we bought new bed and bedding and moved it back in. washed ALL our clothing double hot and ran it thru the dryer twice to be sure, me throwing out half my clothes as well i am large breasted, so double washing and drying shrunk most of my tops. It was fine for a few weeks, then the bugs came back again. Ive been at him about getting the exterminator back in for weeks, showing him my bites and scabs and scars hoping he will do something about it. but nothing I know what youre thinking, why stay then? I don't have the money to afford to move out, so this is a necessity to be done. Can I sue him for not taking full care of this? We've had mice, cockroaches and bed bugs now and bed bugs are the LAST straw for me. Please help.

Please advise with any thing you canThanksWell the heating is produced buy radiators on the wall and i have a switch to turn them on and off .. i just use 2 of them for about 3 h a day .. and the part with 24 7 i was referring to the boiler that i have just for hot water witch i use like 1bath every 2 days and 2 showers a day. so i really have no ideea how can i use so much electricity i use the stove that is electric and the oven a like 4 times a week .. and i just do not think they consume that much ... maybe i have a broken meter.No man i am not pre paid i am with EDF and i have a direct debit of 40 a month but at this rate by the end of the year i will owe EDF about 1000 pound if i have a 140 monthly usage and i only pay 40 .. and man i rent this place so punting storage heaters is out of the question. and i cook in the oven like grill and stuff like that it is not for casseroles. but the ideea is that for the period 10Nov to 10 Feb i used 2100 units and payed 360 pounds before setting the direct debit and now and now for 10 Feb to 10 March i would normally pay 150 for 970 Units and i used less heating and the boiler was put to heat only in the night hours that are with 5p unit not 14p unit so either way i should have payd ... much much less. really cross with this things

Apartment infected with Roaches and Bed Bugs?
My apartment has been infected with roaches and bed bugs...exterminator just sprays chemically scented water for it has no effect....in fact whole apartment complex about 800 or so apartments they all have similar issue...takes whole day to vacant closet, cabinets and moe then day to clean and put it back...this is one reason no one wants exterminator..management turns their back and don't care.....township health dept. is aware about this but nothing happens....rumor is management is very well connected......what right do i havertfm...my lease expires in nov. 2012.
Bed bugs at a retirement home?
My girlfriend works at a retirement home and she came home upset because one of her old person has bed bugs. She still had to go in to the room and help him with dressing. They did not move him out till the next day and he had to sleep on the same bed with the bugs all night. My girlfriend was worried because we have a 6 month old baby and she was worried about bringing it home. Her boss hasn't even brought it up and they don't want to address it. She does not know what to do from here.
